You will serve as a Nondestructive Test Inspector Supervisor I in the Quality Assurance Branch, Production Support Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Duties
You will supervise, direct, and coordinate nondestructive test (NDT) inspection operations for NDT inspectors and leaders.
You will plan work for subordinates based on the established project and NDT inspection developed schedules.
You will ensure appropriate numbers of personnel with correct qualifications and material are available to support the scheduled work.
You will serve as the NDT inspector representative at ship project meetings and strategy sessions.
You will coordinate NDT inspection services with multiple zone managers for work aboard ship and in shop to efficiently and effectively utilize NDT inspection resources.
You will determine SUBSAFE and nuclear interface work, and ensure appropriate controls are carried out as required.
You will analyze and balance the workforce by periodically reviewing the shift assignments, work progress and work operations.
You will assure that subordinate personnel effectively carry out policies to achieve management objectives.
You will make formal appraisals of subordinate personnel, initiate personnel actions, act on personnel problems, and maintain administrative records.
You will determine subordinates training needs and ensure required training is accomplished.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You must be willing and able to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays).
- You will be required to work a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts.
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
