You will serve as a ELECTRIC POWER CONTROLLER SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will provide oral and written instructions of priorities and work assignments. You will assign tasks, estimate short term equipment and material needs, review work, and pass out instructions. You will set the pace for the crew, prepare status and progress reports, and inform supervisor of significant problems affecting work or ability to meet deadlines. You will work closely with shop safety and technical personnel to solve problems and deficiencies.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE: 1) Relaying instructions to the next shift operator and supervisor in charge, including relaying information on problems encountered and actions taken; 2) Maintaining daily logs which denotes any electrical switching, abnormal condition, or event which effects the electrical distribution system; and 3) Inspecting and monitoring the operation of the electrical distribution system as well as the maintenance repair activities to ensure proper quality of electrical output, efficiency, and safety.
