This position is in the Office of Research and Development, Office of Resource Management. About: The Office of Research and Development (ORD) This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). *Work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as creating a variety of communication materials to promote program objectives; providing recommendations to management based on latest communication strategy developments; and collaborating with internal and/or external parties to develop communication strategies related to environmental programs. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of communication principles and practices; 2) Skill in utilizing web and design software applications; 3) Skill in written communication; 4) Skill in collaborating with others to meet program needs; 5) Skill in oral communication; 6) Skill in quantitative and qualitative analyses; 7) Ability to evaluate media content to determine areas of improvement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
