As a NBE/BE (Gov. and Oper. Risk Policy Analyst), you will work with the Director for Governance and Operational Risk Policy and the Deputy Comptroller for Operational Risk on complex and challenging issues in corporate and risk governance, bank management, and operations to analyze bank supervision issues, identify risks, and recommend new or revised agency policies and guidance.
Although Washington, DC is preferred; Alternate Location Arrangement (ALA) may be considered.
Duties
As a NBE/BE (Gov. and Oper. Risk Policy Analyst), you will:
Identify, monitor, and evaluate risk issues and research and analyze risks on emerging issues related to corporate and risk governance, bank management, and operations.
Develop examination tools and metrics for risk identification and participate in bank examinations and assessment reviews as needed and provide reports on governance and operational risk issues.
Support OCC's interaction with domestic and international regulators on activities related to governance and operational risk. Represent and support the OCC's participation at industry forums, meetings, and public speaking events.
Coordinate across OCC operating units to assess developmental needs, propose and develop examiner training and awareness to effectively implement policy and procedures associated with governance and operational risk.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level or GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Experience performing audit reviews or examinations in corporate governance, financial risk management, financial audit, financial operations, bank management, or operational risk areas within a financial industry; or
Experience assisting in developing bank or financial institution policy or regulatory guidance.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
