This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer. Duties

As a Facilities Services Officer, you will: Manage a staff charged with delivering facilities management products and services that facilitate Departmental activities, anticipate client's requirements, and are integrated with other Departmental and OCAO initiatives and programs. Identify future facilities requirements, develops long and short-term plans to address the requirements identified, and evaluates performance against objectives specified by plans. Represent the Deputy CAO on the full range of facilities management matters in dealings with officials within and outside the Department. Serve as the primary Department-level expert on the complex issues associated with providing optimal levels of support in a broad variety of facilities management areas. Make decisions on highly visible cases and resolves controversial issues that require senior level experience, superior analytical skills, and application of judgment and discretion regarding space and assets, documentation management, headquarters operations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Supervising or leading a team of Facilities Management professionals responsible for operations of Government facilities; AND - Providing advisory services to an organization and assistance to high-level managers on issues covering all management areas; AND - Performing a wide variety of analytical studies and projects, aimed at improvements and long-range planning. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
