About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller), Funds Management and Control Division. The employee performs various functions that pertain to the control and distribution of funds in the Army's financial systems for Army appropriations and certain Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) funds executed by the Army.
Duties
At the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) level, responsible for controlling and distributing the Army's funding and selected Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) appropriations/funding executed by Army.
Conducts research and data analytics of financial data contained within agency systems.
Responsible for supporting Army’s goals toward a clean audit opinion in the area of funds control and distribution.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
- Obtain and Maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated financial systems to distribute funds; placing funding controls for the distribution of funds; preparing allotments and sub-allotments of funds for distribution to appropriation sponsors; and, performing analytical and/or technical duties in one or more phases of the budgetary process such as budget formulation, justification, execution, and/or analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
