About the Position: This is a permanent position with Army Clinic Moncrief. Moncrief Army Health Clinic is located on Fort Jackson, South Carolina and is part of the 82 square mile military installation located adjacent to the state capital of Columbia. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Determine and plan for current and future supply requirements. Determine economic order quantities and plan procurements to maintain efficient pharmaceutical support. Assist in preparing budget forecasts and analyses. Assist in determining year-end purchase strategies and options. Interpret information from various pharmaceutical references, supply bulletins, recall notices, and pharmaceutical manufacturer data to determine the suitability of substitute products. Analyze pharmaceutical data to insure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical drugs and devices. Determine generic drug equivalents, concentration, dosage forms, and drug indications for pharmaceuticals and makes the equivalent adjustments.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required: Tier 3
  • Incumbent will be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series. Incumbent will be required to sign a statement of understanding and are subject to vaccinations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements. This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 5% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
  • Position requires you to possess and maintain a valid state drivers license.
  • Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a COR certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Will be required to work a rotating shift, averaging every 8 to 10 weeks on a Saturday at the Outpatient Pharmacy. This shift is 0800 to 1630.

  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience Required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: filling prescriptions, ordering pharmaceuticals, monitoring stock levels in a pharmacy, and utilizing pharmacy based computer systems gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate-level education in Pharmacology or a related field of study, from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR

Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS- 07: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

FOREIGN EDUCATION:
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
