Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Extensive and progressive experience in leading and applying principles of financial management and accounting in a variety of financial and/or accounting environments.2. Leadership experience performing business management and supervisory duties including work planning and distribution, task organization and performance development.3. Demonstrated experience with planning, implementing, and/or overseeing efforts to achieve organizational goals as they pertain to audit readiness/remediation.4. Demonstrated experience translating goals and objectives into successful projects and programs within the bounds of policies, procedures, laws and regulations. 5. Demonstrated experience communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical customers. 6. Demonstrated experience prioritizing tasks and managing competing and changing priorities with successful outcomes.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Public Administration, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in researching financial issues and evaluating financial operating statements, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to 1 year of experience. Candidates should show their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in researching financial issues and evaluating financial operating statements, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties associated with this work.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience and familiar with accounting principles, procedures, and policies in order to manage, provide comprehensive advice, and make sound judgements regarding assets, liabilities, fund balances, and general ledgers.2. Federal or commercial financial statement audit experience.3. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community financial management experience.4. Licenses and Certifications: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Defense Financial Manager.
