This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Phoenix Field Division.
This position(s) primary purpose is to support and assistance to an assigned DEA Domestic Field Division's community outreach and prevention support activities, including program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community events. The incumbent maintains collaborative relationships and strengthens DEA's presence in the community-based network.

As a COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIALISTyour typical work assignments may include:
Serving as the Community Outreach Specialist in support and assistance to the DEA's Phoenix Field Division community outreach and prevention support activities, including program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community events.
Supporting the Phoenix Field Division developing, delivering, and advocating preeminent law enforcement and non-law enforcement training to DEA personnel as well as appropriate federal, state, local, and foreign law enforcement counterparts.
Maintaining a collaborative relationship with DEA Headquarters, other external federal, state and local law enforcement communities and strengthens DEA's presence in the community based network.
Hosting events, providing briefings to academic groups, other law enforcement agencies/groups, and foreign government counterparts.
Establishing and maintaining contact with Phoenix Field Division financial units and works directly with DEA Headquarters' contracting and procurement staff.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service (or equivalent) performing the following duties: 1) Liaising with prevention organizations and community partners that focus on drug use, family and violence; 2) Analyzing statistical data and budget reports to monitor outcomes and metrics; 3) Formulating and recommending drug prevention communication strategies that include modern approaches such social media presence.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
