Duties
Assists with developing financial and operational statistical information regarding postal and distribution services.
Responsible for the operation of the accountable document control database utilizing a computer terminal.
Identifies malfunctioning equipment, troubleshoots when possible, and ensures service calls are placed when not internally resolvable.
Provides technical advice and disseminates USPS policy and procedures in regard to the preparation and/or processing of various classes of USPS domestic and international mail.
Performs quality control processes on work done by the mail services contractor and NIH DMMS employees at all NIH facilities/locations, as directed by a supervisor.
Examines incoming mail for possible biological or explosive hazards through physical examination and/or through x-ray equipment.
Requirements

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Providing mail services (i.e., receipt, collection, processing, distribution, control, transportation of mail) to an organization; Providing assistance to customers in selecting and obtaining mail services and postal supplies; Maintaining electronic database of controlled correspondence/documents.
