Duties
As a Health Communications Specialist, you will:
Serve as a liaison between program and other communication staff and with external stakeholders on CDC-INFO program-specific issues.
Develop, test, and disseminate science- and audience-based products, tools, and messages to different audiences in appropriate formats related to the delivery of information through CDC's national contact center.
Contribute to the efficient and effective management of contact center program resources and operational processes.
Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate CDC's national contact center, including programs, projects, and strategies related to the delivery of health information for lay and professional audiences, including innovative demonstration projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
For GS-11: To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing advice and support as it relates to health communication and marketing functions and activities related to the national contact center.
OR
A Ph.D. or equivalent degree; or 3 (three) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related to the position.
OR
A combination of experience and education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
For GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which must include the following experience: leading projects as part of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health communication and marketing activities for national contact center delivering public health information and education to the public, clinicians, and public health professionals.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Promotion potential: Promotion to the next grade level is at management's discretion and is based on your meeting qualifications and time-in-grade requirements, demonstrated ability to perform the higher-level duties, the continuing need for the higher-level duties, and administrative approval. Promotion to the next grade level is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.
