Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Coordinates with CISA Headquarters divisions and national training and education program managers to ensure regional efforts are aligned with national programs.
Represents CISA by speaking at working groups, conferences, interagency meetings, and other forums to facilitate regional exercise and training coordination.
Works with the Regional Director to develop and update necessary training Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
Conducts post-exercise After Action Reviews and develops written after-action reports according to HSEEP compliance standards to improve exercise performance.
Following the Regional Director's set priorities, commitments, policies and program goals.
Qualifications
To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
GS-12
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Assisting in the planning, coordinating and execution of training, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences.
Assisting in the development of briefing or training materials.
Coordinating venue and technology requirements.
Assisting in the coordination of budget administration, and procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.
Demonstrating experience in using various techniques, methods, and procedures for analyzing projects and programs that have a local and/or regional impact.
Directing exercise operations under the direction or supervision of the Exercise Leader.
GS-13
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you have:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) performing the following duties:
Planning, coordinating and executing training, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences.
Developing briefing or training materials.
Coordinating venue and technology requirements.
Coordinating budget administration, procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.
Participating in the planning, development, monitoring, conduct, and evaluation of critical infrastructure security and resilience related exercises.
Conducting outreach and partnership building to achieve consensus and cooperation across agencies.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).
