About the Position: This position is a Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation), GS-0203-07 located at the Entrance Processing STN - SACTO Command Group Sacramento, CA.
Duties
Receives all visitors and incoming command telephone calls. Determines nature of call or business of visitors and takes appropriate action.
Serves as a primary or alternate publications and forms clerk responsible for ordering and distribution of those products.
Refers business matters and visitors to appropriate section/supervisor.
Provides, administrative and unclassified, information to callers upon determination of their right to receive it.
Ensures dissemination of information to responsible staff personnel who can satisfy the request.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a typing proficiency for at least 40 words per minutes (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- Mail Must obtain and maintain a DD 285 Mail Handler's Card.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience by performing administrative duties and clerical work such as maintaining records, files, timekeeping, and travel vouchers. Utilizing variety of automation systems to create documents, correspondence, reports, and personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Management. You must attach your transcript with your application if using education to meet the qualifications.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
