This position is located in the Headquarters Office of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Office of Compliance and Field Operations (EXC), Division of Resources Management (CRM), and serves as the supervisor of the Fast Track Team. The Fast Track Team is responsible for negotiating expedited voluntary recalls of potentially hazardous consumer products.

Qualifications

All candidates must possess the Selective Placement Factor (SPF) to receive consideration for this position. The SPF required for this position requires you to work on sensitive cases involving death or serious injuries to consumers.  In addition to the SPF, applicants qualifying based on experience must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:   GS-14:  1) Managing and/or implementing product safety compliance projects or programs; 2) Advising and updating management officials on the status of product safety compliance issues; 3) Leading negotiations, cases or projects related to product safety compliance; and 4) Evaluating product defects in accordance with established legal standards.
