This position is with the Small Business Administration, Citrus Heights 7a Loan Guaranty Processing Center in Citrus Heights, CA. The incumbent serves as a Loan Specialist and is responsible for evaluating loan applications for program eligibility and creditworthiness requiring experience with business structures and financial statement analysis.

Duties

Analyzes a wide variety of commercial loan applications characterized by varying corporate and financial structures, and which might contain limited financial data. Evaluates commercial loan requests to determine applicants' eligibility and proper loan structure, including capital injection, collateral, and other requirements. Assesses managements' experience and past performance, to determine the potential for successful operation of the applicant business entity. Investigates essential commercial credit factors to determine the merits of granting loan guaranties with reasonable assurance of repayment of proposed loan proceeds. Work assignments include a substantial number of commercial loan application cases considered to be the largest and most difficult or complex. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228. This is not a drug testing designated position (TDP).

Qualifications

GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: as a loan processor, underwriter, financial analyst, portfolio manager, or other like position, with responsibility for making repayment and eligibility recommendations on commercial loan applications for businesses with multiple owners, affiliated businesses, and other complicating factors. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
