Duties

Serves as the squadron focal point for directing/controlling activities related to Force Support Squadron (FSS) supply/logistics management to include accountability and control of APF, NAF, and Defense Reutilization Management Office (DMRO) assets in support of squadron integrated logistics; general supply systems; inventory, and vehicles. Identifies, analyzes, develops, directs, and implements integrated logistical support to the command section, flight chiefs, and separate activities within the FSS. Assists command section, flight chiefs, and activity managers in short/long range planning, identifying, and projecting logistical support needs, equipment, projects, and formulating respective requirements submissions as well as compilation of historical data, fund source, source of availability, and procurement procedures. Reviews and interprets logistics support policies (APF and NAF), concepts, management, and property utilization and disposal. Acts as squadron's principle screening authority and accountability officer with DRMO property. Processes supplies and equipment to DRMO activity when proper distribution has been approved. Prepares and maintains necessary forms/documents for all APF/NAF withdrawals/turn-ins to/from DRMO. Prepares annual NAF Vehicle Budget Exhibit for submission to the NAF Council. Ensures all vehicles budgeted by activity managers have been justified/approved. Works with the applicable activity manager to prepare needed justification documentation. Provides guidance to flight chiefs and activity mangers in preparation of APF and NAF budgets for equipment, supplies, repair, renovation projects, and new facility projects for Services activities. Monitors budget, procurement, and project schedules ensuring compliance with policy guidance, planning parameters, and established schedules. Controls and monitors fuel keys issued to vehicle custodians. Ensures compliance with APF and NAF inventory procedures. Develops, coordinates, and monitors programs for unannounced physical inventories of all supplies and equipment. Conducts management studies on utilization of equipment to include types, quantities, and costs of special supplies required to support various types of equipment. Reviews physical inventory programs at Services Activities and assists in the development of plans to control inventory. Manages corrective process for discrepancies identified on the annual fixed asset inventory. Conducts investigations of suspected losses when directed by the Services Commander. Provides logistics training to activity managers. Maintains necessary items to insure squadron compliance with property custodian requirements. Serves as Vehicle Control Officer (VCO) for the squadron to include duties as primary custodian for all DRMO acquired vehicles. Ensures reports, audits, and suspense's are prepared for supervisors to be forwarded to higher level headquarters/agencies as required. Directly supervises employees: plans, schedules, and assigns work; establishes priorities and deadlines; reviews the work in progress or upon completion; ensures equity of performance standards and rating performance of subordinates; approves leave; counsels employees; takes disciplinary actions; and provides training. Requirements

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Tier 1 background investigation with favorable results.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience with logistics, supply, and equipment management. Must have working knowledge of inventory procedures. Must have the ability to research, compile, and analyze information and data, perform technical support work that involves receiving, handling, storing, and physically controlling items and equipment. In addition, must have ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to screen review and verify documents and resolve discrepancies. Must be able to work in an indoor/outdoor environment. Typing skills are required. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education
