Duties

This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. ***Salary Ranges shown do not include locality*** The initial temporary appointment will be for a period NTE 1 year and may be extended in increments of up to 1 year. Multiple extensions to the temporary appointment are allowed, however, the appointment plus the extensions cannot exceed a total of 3 years." DUTIES: SECURITY SPECIALIST Implements and administers the Information Security Program for the organization. Administers the Industrial Security Program for the organization. Administers the Personnel Security Program for the organization. Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Assists managers in implementing security education and motivation programs.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess quality level experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Quality experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by Knowledge of information, industrial, personnel and physical security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist manager s in establishing and operation internal security programs. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related in courses. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contribution to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishments of the mission. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
