You will serve as a Lofter in the Shipfitter Shop (Shop 11A), Hull Division (TRF Code 310), Repair Department (310) of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.

Duties

You will be transmit any measurement errors discovered by plan disagreements to design engineering codes for resolution. You will prepare corrected mold loft layouts as necessary and reports changes and conditions to designated design agent. You will develop fabrication and assembly drawings used in the manufacture of fabrication of shipboard components. Fabricates structural assemblies in shop and plans layout positioning. You will remove/repair/replace various damaged shipboard parts, component and structure.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel worldwide at which time additional medical screening may be required.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision such as: Developing and constructing templates and molds to be used as patterns and guides for the layout and fabrication of various structural parts and foundations; working from blueprints, table of offsets and other design information to lay out ship lines to full-scale dimension or to reduced scale dimension; and developing, programing, and operating the Numerically Controlled (NC) abrasive water-jet cutting machine and plasma/oxy fuel cutting machine. Interpreting blueprints, drawings, instructions, specifications, sketches, etc. to perform job duties and removing, repairing, and replacing various Damaged shipboard parts, components and structures.
