You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Office of NMRTC CAMP LEJEUNE NC.

Duties

You will act as primary assistant to the Public Affairs Office as the command’s ambassador and link to military and civilian media. You will prepare newsletters or other communications for distribution to field offices to keep them acquainted with programs. You will conduct research, analysis, develops marketing strategies, and designs marketing materials for the hospital for distribution. You will perform administrative office duties such as: requisition office supplies, operating budget, incoming correspondence, and time keeping duties. You will edit or rewrite material submitted by others or localized material from other sources.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • In accordance with BUMED INST 6220.9B, this position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations and a signed (Condition of employment) consenting to such.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing strong journalistic experience including information gathering, news planning editing, interview capabilities. Researching, writing, composing, and proofreading news and articles, providing graphics, layout and design utilizing desktop publishing software. Articulating in a professional manner with various groups of people. Using office automation equipment, programs, and tools such as personal computers with word processing and desktop publishing programs. Performing administrative office duties such as revising incoming correspondence, requisition of office supplies, and time keeping duties. Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position and is DIRECTLY RELATED to the work of the position:

GS-9: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
