About the Position: Produces and renovates quality conventional missile ammunition and ammunition-related components, performing engineering and product assurance in support of production by receiving, storing, shipping, demilitarizing and disposing of conventional and missile ammunition and related items.
Duties
Receive, issue, ship, store and re-warehouse a wide variety of ammunition, explosives, guided missiles, propellants, and rockets.
Receive, unload and process incoming shipments while verifying all items received against receiving documents.
Inspect warehouse and contents for conditions contributing to deterioration of ammunition.
Operate electric or gasoline powered forklifts capable of lifting loads weighing up to 12,000 pounds.
Store items for maximum convenience of handling, ease of movement and compatibility, protection from damage, deterioration and pilferage.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is covered by Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs and subjected to a pre-employment screening and random testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment and bans individuals from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
- Performs duties that involve the control, accountability and shipment of arms, ammunition and explosives (AA and E). Incumbent must maintain AA and E Security Certification/Screening IAW AR 190-11.
- Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid Stateside driver's license.
- This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by human resources within 30 calendar days after the Entrance on Duty (i.e., start date).
- Selectee’s inability to successfully pass or refusal to conduct the drug test may result in the job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process or subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Missile Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision. Must have the ability to perform common tasks applying warehouse methods, procedures and techniques to receive, store, issue, ship and re-warehouse hazardous materials. I can operate materials handling equipment moving materials in a warehouse type environment over level terrain and not in a congested area. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort- Work is performed on hard surfaces that requires standing, bending, stooping and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing in excess of 45 lbs. Physical effort is utilized in moving hands, feet and legs to operate and turn vehicles with trailer attachments. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts.
Working Conditions- Work is performed inside and out, in unheated igloos or magazines in all weather conditions, and is performed regardless of weather conditions. Occasionally works in dirt, and frequently works on cement floors and damp and drafty areas.
