About the Position: Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, which provide continuity and efficiency of administrative office operations and procedures. Proceeds independently to plan and carry out assignments to include obtaining and presenting data and advice necessary for the proper functioning and management of the organization.
Duties
Performs office administration work such as budgeting, supply management, time keeping, data processing, project tracking, and files management.
Collects data for office operating budget.
Collects data for several office operations, analyzes the data, sets up controls to monitor them and independently troubleshoots as needed.
Prepare a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports and other documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing office automation tasks for an organization; 2) Building products, such as graphs and spreadsheets, with software tools; AND 3) Utilizing an automated timekeeping system for an organization, such as ATAAPS. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
