This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible to support the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) in the assessment of training and exercise policies, impact of other DoD policies on the joint training and exercise enterprise, manage training and exercise related authorities and programs and analyze impacts of Global Force management and Chairman's Readiness System decisions on joint training and exercises.
Duties
As a PROGRAM ANALYST (JOINT TRAINING AND EXERCISE POLICY ANALYSIS) at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert in support of the Joint Staff J7 on all Chairman Joint Chief of Staff joint training policies to include the Joint Exercise Program, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Education, Training , Exercise, and Evaluation policy.
Analyzes Global Force Management and the Chairman's Readiness System readiness policies and procedures and their impact on joint training and exercises.
Leads or participates in Joint Training Synchronization Conferences.
Develops, coordinates and analyzes exercise concept briefings.
Manages the Exercise Related Construction program including managing projects and resources provided.
Serves as the Joint Staff point of contact for training with friendly forces and the associated costs.

- Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime during peak work periods. Occasional participation in demanding, intense, 24-hour exercise operations is also required. Multi-day overnight stays at exercise sites may be required.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Analyzing and assessing processes for joint training requirements.
Facilitating joint training and exercise policy, planning, execution and analysis.
Planning, managing, and coordinating long-range projects and practices for a variety of training and developmental programs.
Utilizing management and organizational principles and practices of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines, processes and acquisition, for training and developmental programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
