This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The pay band NJ-02 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-5 to 8.
Duties
Analyze results of applying supply/inventory related guidelines in order to recommend changes.
Research appropriate guidance and/or database entries to determine course of action for corrections.
Resolve reports of losses, discrepancies and computer-generated inventory errors in accordance with standardized supply regulations.
Conduct extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply/inventory transactions and patterns.
Reconstruct records to support transactions.
Perform research to identify patterns of transaction errors and failures in automated supply systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to work overtime.
- This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
- This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968, which makes it a felony for anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
- Civilian personnel of the Dept. of Defense are not exempt from this provision. Therefore, as a condition of employment, must sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision.
- Position requires a valid driver's license. Position requires the ability to drive on the installation. Installation driving privileges are automatic unless suspended or revoked.
- Temporary duty (TDY) business travel is required less than 25% of the time.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes creating and maintaining supporting database records/spreadsheets to be used for tracking, monitoring usage and accurate physical inventory; review receipt documents for accuracy of quantities, coding and catalog data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NJ-01).

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
