You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (CONSTRUCTION) in the FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Limited to commuting area of PWD Little Creek only

Duties

You will induct, program and coordinate special projects, specific and minor work, engineering scopes, studies and designs and contracts from initial customer request to completion of work and final billing. You will interpret Business Line rules and prepare work packages to be presented to senior management staffed work induction boards when projects are judged sufficiently complicated or sensitive in nature. You will track work through the system and prepare production metrics for senior managers. You will secure funding before forwarding work for execution and provide financial advise to clients on funding procedures. You will use an automated management system for cradle to grave work input, monitoring, material tracking, scheduling and accounting for work such as preventative maintenance, repairs, minor and specific work, special projects and inspection records.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-09 Qualification: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using automated management systems to perform facilities management and work control functions; 2) Planning and coordinating job scheduling, materials and funding, handling unusual problems and deviations as necessary for a variety of facilities projects (grounds, roads, buildings, marine structures, airfields, special purpose buildings, etc); 3) Reviewing the work scope and content, considering priorities and requested completion dates, prior commitments, existing schedule and workload in determining workload; 4) Determining correct funding types for each phase of a project, initiating corrective action and stopping work until resolved; 5) Advising higher levels of management on work progress and cost. GS-08 Qualification: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using automated management systems to perform facilities management and work control functions; 2) Coordinating with supervisor to complete job scheduling, materials and funding, handling unusual problems and deviations as necessary for a variety of facilities projects (grounds, roads, buildings, marine structures, airfields, special purpose buildings, etc); 3) Reviewing the work scope and content, considering priorities and requested completion dates, prior commitments, existing schedule and workload in determining workload with supervision; 4) Determining correct funding types for each phase of a project, recommending corrective action to supervisor.
