Job opening: PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHOP PLANNER/SCHEDULER)

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHOP PLANNER/SCHEDULER) in the PRODUCTION DIVISION of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will define the scope of work for various projects, determine what tasks need to be accomplished, estimate the labor, material and equipment required and write a fixed-price proposal, consulting with trade experts as needed. You will manage projects from assignment to final closeout, serving as the primary point of contact for all project related questions, issues and concerns. You will maintain a current work status, documenting changes to schedules or modifications made to ensure impact to schedule commitments or project cost can be addressed. You will collect and track performance data related to schedule adherence, estimated to actual labor cost and material requirements, providing metrics to the project supervisor on a weekly basis. You will make purchases for supplies and services, process receipts, update automated material management systems and reconcile statements.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals; 2) Analyzing technical requirements, recommending how work should be done and resolving problems that arise; 3) Creating work plans and schedules including various trades.
