About the Position:
This position is in the Directorate of Accession Policy, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy (DASD (MPP)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Personnel and Readiness (USD (P&R)).
Duties
Serve as an Accessions Program and Policy Analyst responsible for a broad range of duties related to military officer and enlisted personnel procurement programs.
Act as a bridge between various departments, streamlining processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness while driving innovation and growth for the organization.
Deal with largely undefined and complex issues related to all aspects of accession policy and initiatives.
Plan, organize, and conduct difficult and complex organizational and technology studies of each program to determine strengths, weaknesses and best practices.
Coordinate the implementation of initiatives established to enhance accessions processing with the United States Military Entrance Processing Command.
Formulate policies and strategies for military accessions using extensive knowledge of military personnel procurement policy.
Deal with significant and complex issues to respond to the needs of the service recruiting commands.
Integrating programs across accessions and policy pertaining to military officer procurement policy and the analysis and evaluation of officer commissioning plans, schedules, budgets, and program execution.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating strategic initiatives, military officer, and enlisted personnel procurement programs, recommending improvements of enlisted recruiting and officer commissioning programs, developing goals, measures, and/or objectives addressing military recruitment and accession processing and/or strategic initiatives, developing positions on legislative and/or procedural changes to military programs, and collaborating with various stakeholders to develop strategic plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
