Duties

You will operate straight in line fuel trucks with GVWs up to 64,500 pounds to transport fuel on the installation and over public highways. You will operate the trucks auxiliary pumping system to dispense fuel which includes regulating the pumping pressure and the rate of fuel flow which varies with each type of aircraft being serviced. You will install static lines for proper grounding. You will regulate the pumping pressure and the rate of fuel flow which varies with each type of aircraft being serviced. You will read maps to select alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic and other adverse conditions that may cause delay, to reach unfamiliar locations, or to determine the shortest and fastest route for both short and long trips. You will operate aircraft refueling tank vehicles for refueling or defueling aviation and ground refueling operations services You will operate fuel-testing equipment (e.g., Contaminated Fuel Detector , Free Water Detector , Fuel System Icing Inhibitor, Flashpoint or MARFLASH, and gravimetric analysis) to evaluate fuel in relation to product quality and safety. You will adhere to traffic laws and ordinances (e.g., state, local, organization) to safely arrive at destination.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You must possess and be able to maintain a valid Class B CDL state driver's license and base driving privileges and obtain and maintain hazardous material and tanker endorsements within 75 calendar days after entrance on duty.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. You will be required to work rotating shifts.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION SCREEN OUT ELEMENT:: Ability to operate vehicles of large capacity for refueling for aircraft and determining sequence and distribution when loading and unloading materials.
