You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT (MILITARY/OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Operations Department at the Navy Reserve Center of NRC NORFOLK.
Duties
You will coordinate directly with major claimant in resolution of conflicts between each individual reservist’s desires/needs and reserve program training requirements.
You will perform complete review of records and other documentation to ensure that they are procedurally correct, complete, and adheres to military policies and regulations.
You will process, track, and report gain and losses; and perform required associated manpower task for assigned Reservist.
You will serve as Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) acting as the primary customer service link between command personnel and servicing Personnel Support Detachment (PSD).
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- -You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- May require to successfully complete a two-week Reserve Personnel and Pay Management course within six months of employment.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Drill weekend is required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Using computer-based programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Generating reports and drafting memoranda.
Solving personnel problems using civilian personnel principles, concepts, laws, regulations, and policies.
Generating reports and work manpower/Human Resource actions.
Processing, tracking, and reporting gain and losses; and perform required associated manpower task for assigned Reservist.
