This employee works under the supervision of the Member Services Supervisor and works directly with Social Workers, Health Care Providers, Medical Administration support staff, and Veterans.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Determine eligibility of applicants for travel pay
Manages bills of collection for beneficiary travel over payments
Determine administrative eligibility for special transportation, ensures medical needs criteria is met
Performs research and creates bills of collections for beneficiary travel over payments
Manage inquires regarding travel pay, special transportation and related beneficiary travel unit procedures
Receives requests from patients for lodging accommodations for veterans coming outpatient appointments or admissions.
Maintains beneficiary travel fund control points
Maintains administrative accounting and statistical reports.
Maintains and stores computer data based on VA filing system.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing various administrative duties, such as preparing correspondence or reports; collecting and analyzing statistical data; coordinating travel requests; and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
