This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services(CMCS), Data and Systems Group (DSG), Division of Information Systems (DIS).
As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210-14, you will serve as the deputy director sharing responsibility with the director for design, development, and implementation of new IT products in support of the MACBIS program.
Duties
Generate insights into possible product, division, and group level improvements across the entire DSG portfolio.
Assist staff with and directly oversees contractors in their application of engineering, product, design, and research best practices.
Serve as DSG liaison, representative and/or senior advisor to CMS, OIT, states and other external partners.
Incorporate agile development methodologies and open source practices into government
product delivery.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees; provides or arranges for needed development and training.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Leading digital product teams including contractors to achieve program objectives as demonstrated by specific measurements or metrics; 2. Overseeing the development or operations of products to support the needs of customers engaged in health insurance or national health care operations i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, or equivalent health care program; AND 3. Providing direction to staff, including guidance on contract activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
