You will serve as a Mechanical Shops Supervisor II in the Machinery Division, Repair Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will oversee the planning, direction, or execution of programs for subordinate organizational units. You will interface with Production Controllers, and Engineers ensuring technical documentation, or work procedure revisions are completed to support the work effort. You will conduct shift turnovers and night work meetings with the shop supervisors and attend refit planning and management meetings. You will perform continuous in-progress checks of jobs in the shops and on the ships. You will resolve equipment and material delays and problems with supervisors and mechanics. You will act as a production execution coordinator between shops in other divisions, ships force personnel, and Bremerton site shops and managers.

Requirements

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You may be required to perform occasional sea duty.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Work requires the ability to climb vertical and inclined ladders, kneel and crawl through tanks, voids and superstructures.
  • This position may require to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Shift work may be required.
