The primary purpose of this position is to manage the shop workload (i.e. repair, overhaul, modification and certification) of Communications Security (COMSEC), Information Assurance (IA), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Force Protection and Cyber weapon systems. Organizational location of position is: AFLCMC, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (HNC), Maintenance Branch (HNCM), JBSA-Lackland, Texas.

Duties

DUTY 1 - Establishes plans, schedules and monitor the execution of sustainment activities performed by the Maintenance Hardware Section DUTY 2 - Ensures proper inputs of data pertaining to job control number, job status changes, supply updates and other pertinent information are up-to-date in the maintenance tracking system. DUTY 3 - Provides technical guidance to military personnel assigned to the focal point production support work center processes, execution and sustainment activities. DUTY 4 - Maintains pace with current AF directives; maintains and/or modifies local job control numbers, local operating instructions and regulations as to their application to the Maintenance Branch Production support focal point. DUTY 5 - Ensures completions of inducted production items are transferred to the Repair Processing Area within the scheduled due-out-date from maintenance and validates classifications of items, proper or special handling and packaging.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Must Obtain/Maintain Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI. Non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

  • Requires flexibility to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Technician/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methods of a production controller and skills in applying this knowledge in carrying out elementary assignments, operations, and procedures. Knowledge of mission assignment, workload, organizational structure, shop capability/limitations and operating procedures. NOTE: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Must have knowledge of production organization and established production methods and procedures, labor, equipment and material requirements for the manufacture, overhaul and repair of a variety of complex items. 2. Knowledge, skills and experience to prevent or alleviate unanticipated production processing delays, scheduling conflicts and lack of required material and manpower. The position must have knowledge of product and manufacturing/repair terminology, technical data and performance standards. 3. Knowledge of supply processes, policies and procedures and a variety of different sources for obtaining parts/material and for items that are urgent, critical or require special handling. Ability to research, interpret and apply applicable reference material to implement corrective action as well as establish cost control for difficult and complex production problems. 4. Ability to maintain good working relations with applicable stakeholders, co-workers, peers, and management. The employee coordinates effectively with item management specialist, equipment specialists, engineers, system managers, and program offices to identify specific maintenance requirements and to develop, plans and schedules to meet requirements. Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, and upper management, both orally and in writing, and to work effectively with groups and individuals in planning efforts and in working out solutions to problems or questions. 5. Knowledge of AF supply systems, Maintenance Tracking Systems, assign Job Control Numbers and processing closed JCN's, and knowledge of AFLCMC/HNC organizational and functional responsibilities and operations. 6. Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, principles, methods, procedures, and other guidance related to various functions of life-cycle sustainment/maintenance support; in depth understanding of the interrelationships of various disciplines required to manage systems/projects/programs. 7. Knowledge of safety and occupational health practices as they relate to industrial equipment; ability to research, analyzes, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures; knowledge of applicable security practices. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
