Duties

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, surveillance testing of electronic components, medical equipment and/or systems modifications based on official guidance. Inspect new patient care medical equipment to include receipt, inventory of parts, accessories, assembly, inspection, calibration, performance verification parts replacement and documentation. Serve as an adviser for special projects involving the installation, service and repair of highly complex medical equipment and systems. Communicate with clinical staff to aid and in-service training, setup, calibration, operation, and application of Patient Care Equipment. Resolve complex electrical/electronic computer operating systems, mechanical, physical and/or chemical components of medical equipment and systems. Evaluate, install, maintain, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and/or test medical electronic equipment/systems used at a Medical Treatment Facility

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
