You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST (WEB MEDIA) in the Office of Public Affairs of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Duties
You will develop policy for and manages all aspects of worldwide dissemination of Joint Forces news and information, both written and visual.
You will decide within short deadlines and using own judgment and knowledge of industry standards and best-practices what words, images, stories, etc, best convey Commander’s vision and message.
You will monitor, evaluate and assess return of effort/investment of all web products; analyzes and evaluates website statistics; and provides advice and assistance regarding such.
You will develop and conduct training for public affairs personnel to familiarize and indoctrinate them in the use of new technologies in the execution of INDOPACOM public affairs objectives.
You will identify, select and use appropriate software to create, publish, maintain, and update information on the INDOPACOM web media platform.
Requirements

Qualifications
GS-12 Grade:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as:
1) Developing policy, content, planning, posture and application of web media to include the use of websites and the internet, and development of visual content for use as a force multiplier to disseminate internal and external information;
2) Planning, designing, developing, testing, implementing, managing and maintaining dynamic web and digital content;
3) Managing public-facing website, internal intranet sharepoint page, and the associated integration with other digital platforms to include social media; and
4) Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and techniques of communication; analytical methods; and interpersonal relations practices to function as the technical expert to the Public Affairs Office in the website management functional area.
GS-11 Grade:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as:
1) Assisting in developing policy, content, planning, posture and application of web media to include the use of websites and the internet, and development of visual content for use as a force multiplier to disseminate internal and external information;
2) Managing public-facing website, internal intranet sharepoint page, and the associated integration with other digital platforms to include social media; and
3) Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, and techniques of communication; analytical methods; and interpersonal relations practices to function as the technical expert to the Public Affairs Office in the website management functional area.

Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
