The incumbent will serve as a Program Support Assistant organizationally aligned to the Governance and Compliance Section within the Office of the Director at the Dayton VA Medical Center and reports to the Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) that reports to the Medical Center Director, Dayton VAMC (552) - a level 1c complexity VHA facility.
Duties
The primary purpose of the Governance and Compliance Section is to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of the governance and compliance activities for the medical facility and to ensure a standardized and effective approach to compliance using the compliance framework, Compliance and Integrity standards, processes, and resources set forth under the Compliance and Integrity program national guidelines and associated documents and any functions aligned under the Dayton VA Medical Center.
Other major duties of this position, include but are not limited to the following:
Typing/Clerical Support - Provides administrative support services to ensure that inquiries, correspondence, and actions for the section are addressed appropriately.
Correspondence Control, Scheduling, and Records Maintenance - The incumbent may be required to handle a vast range of issues (some very sensitive in nature), which involve records management, information disclosure programs, privacy act, and personnel.
Work, Planning Productivity and Organization - The work also requires practical knowledge, developed through increasingly difficult, on-the-job training or experience dealing with the operations, regulations, principles, and peculiarities of the assigned program, function or activity.
Interpersonal Relationships and Organizational Support - The incumbent must provide clear guidance, support and direction when presented with a challenging situation. Provides assistance to the Corporate Compliance Officer in the selection of focused audits, criteria development, data retrieval, compilation of findings, and analysis.
Communication & Customer Service - Skill in dealing with others (facility staff) as the incumbent interfaces with a variety of professionals. Excellent customer service skills are required.
Requires a thorough knowledge of the professional aspects of compliance. The incumbent assists the Corporate Compliance Officer in monitoring and reporting of national compliance metrics.
Incumbent must be aware of program deadlines and meet required demands without prompting from the supervisor, paying close attention to accuracy.
Incumbent must be able to utilize a variety of software packages in highly integrated systems that include but are not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and other platforms as indicated.
Must fully understand the sensitive nature of this work and be able to uphold the importance of maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality in every aspect of their duties.
Serves as the purchase card holder for the Governance and Compliance Section and provides purchasing support for the Reasonable Accommodations (RA) program and Director's Office as needed.
Designs and maintains a budget and tracking system for expenditures and reports monthly to the Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) on assigned program fund control points.
Prepares yearly funding requests, and ensures local program is compliant with funding updates and changes.
Will complete ADPAC duties for the section and in support of the Director's Office. This may include completing EPAS requests for gaining staff access keys, assisting with any on-boarding duties for new employees, and managing access keys within the service.
Will act as a TMS Administrator for the section and in support of the Director's Office. Will be POC for TMS questions and ensures staff members are compliant with mandatory training requirements.
Incumbent will serve as a timekeeper for the Governance and Compliance Section, as well as in support of the T&Ls located within the Director's Office.
The incumbent is responsible for reviewing correspondence, publications, regulations and directives related to the Compliance and Integrity program, as well as the administrative support and preparation of documents for the facility publication review system.
Provides administrative support (recording and preparation of minutes) to the Integrity and Compliance Committee and assists the Corporate Compliance Officer with overseeing and monitoring all activities. Incumbent ensures that all minutes are submitted on time and assists the CCO as the committee chairperson in coordinating and organizing the meeting.

Qualifications
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Administrative creation and maintenance of agendas, meeting minutes, calendars, and updates to SharePoint and/or shared drives.
Reviews publication documents for appropriate formatting, prepares documents for signature, facilitates publication and associate document management for facility level policies and standard operating procedures.
Compiles and analyzes facts, develops plans and performs extensive coordination.
Develops recommendations and initiates new or modified guidelines, work processes and operations in order to improve effectiveness, efficiency or timeliness of work processes.
Independently conducts reviews for accuracy and provides recommendations to leadership based on findings.
Develops and reviews quality control procedures and methodologies to ensure accuracy of reimbursement.
