This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Responsible for the (IGI and S effort), per AR 115-13, under direct supervision from the IGI and S Program Manager.
Design, evaluation, and construction of maps, charts, and digital GIS products.
Serve as Geospatial Technical Advisor.
Independently initiate and develop the Installation Geospatial Information and Services program.
Serve as Geospatial Technical Advisor, assisting multidisciplinary engineers and technicians in coordinating and implementing the IGI and S effort.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment physical is required.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Integrating geospatial solutions into design programs; 2) Maintaining geospatial software and data standards; 3) utilizing Global Positioning Systems (GPS); 4) Managing spatial data features; and 5) Executing drafting, design, and Geospatial Information & Services work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
