About the Position:
Apply knowledge/skillset of civil engineering, cartography, geography, Geographic Information Systems, remote sensing/aerial photo interpretation for design, evaluation, and construction of maps, charts and digital GIS products as Engineering Technician/Cartographer/GIS Analyst.
Duties
Responsible for the (IGI and S effort), per AR 115-13, under direct supervision from the IGI and S Program Manager.
Design, evaluation, and construction of maps, charts, and digital GIS products.
Serve as Geospatial Technical Advisor.
Independently initiate and develop the Installation Geospatial Information and Services program.
Serve as Geospatial Technical Advisor, assisting multidisciplinary engineers and technicians in coordinating and implementing the IGI and S effort.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Integrating geospatial solutions into design programs; 2) Maintaining geospatial software and data standards; 3) utilizing Global Positioning Systems (GPS); 4) Managing spatial data features; and 5) Executing drafting, design, and Geospatial Information & Services work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
