Duties
As a Lead Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support) you will:
Provide technical oversight of contracts related to highly visible projects with potential to impact the health and security of national and international peoples
Serve as an agency wide expert for data networks and video services including performance monitoring and tuning; level III support; network planning and design; traffic and capacity monitoring and planning; support of IP-TV and voice-over IP; Websense, Web caching, network security; and network capacity planning
Design, develop, and implement enterprise-wide initiatives for email, directory services, and data and video networks and ensure integration with other enterprise infrastructure services and the informatics initiatives
Develop and gain approval of project plans and budgets, and conduct cost/benefit analyses and risk assessments
Identify agency-wide information needs, provide technical advice, assistance, and consultation in the selection and use of information technology systems and services
Serve as a Team Leader ensuring that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: responsibility for Information technology (IT) security certification and accreditation processes, security risk assessments, implementation of IT security controls and countermeasures, engineering of global infrastructure, Site to Site VPNs, Wi-Fi infrastructure, Network Access Control and associated technologies in a multi-operating system enterprise.
Applicants must also have IT-related experience demonstrating the required technical skills, knowledge, and abilities and possess the following competencies:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Desirable Certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CIISP)
