Duties

Performs supervisory duties. Manages, develops, organizes and directs, programs, objectives and priorities for the Customer Service Center. Ensures prompt customer assistance in resolving problems and obtaining services. Ensures supply support for production, overhaul repair or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling. Develops and facilities formal customer training to organizational commanders and equipment custodians and users on applicable local programs. Reviews recurring and special reports. Ensures statistics from data requiring substantial analysis, interpretation and development of new formats. Monitors and coordinates, all direct customer contact with Supply.

  • "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT/PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR APPLICANTS WITH NO PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-08, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies and an intensive knowledge of local supply requirements to ensure supply support for production, overhaul repair, or other operations for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS OR CURRENT/PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR APPLICANTS WITH NO PREVIOUS FEDERAL EMPLOYMENT: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions. Knowledge of supply functions, operations, program requirements, and work methods. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices and procedures, including the ability to plan work operations to meet mission requirements. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material, such as supply regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve complex supply problems. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. Ability to receive, screen, review, and verify supply documents and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide others towards goal accomplishment. Skill in identifying, interface problems in supply, contracting, Air Force Equipment Management System (AFEMS) and maintenance automated systems. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
