You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY PLANNER/ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the Public Works Department of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will conduct technical reviews of facilities planning products (i.e., Basic Facilities Requirements [BFRs], Facilities Support Requirements [FSRs]) to determine if objectives are met. You will coordinate community planning actions making certain all installation stakeholders are involved. You will manage a database of facilities and planning documents (e.g., Basic Facilities Requirements, Facility Planning documents, development plans, or similar documents) to track the project's status. You will support the execution of facilities sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) investments for facilities master planning and architectural design. You will implement planning criteria when managing projects (e.g., Master Plans, Special Planning Studies, Basic Facilities Requirements, Facility Planning Documents, or similar components) to meet requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . 1) Providing advisory or review services on specific problems, projects, programs, and/or functions related to engineering, architecture, and/or community planning; 2) Developing facility plans and objectives including criteria, procedures, and instructions; and 3) Analyzing the impacts (i.e., benefits and liabilities) of facility projects.
