You will serve as a Maintenance Supervisor I in the Production Division FS/SH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will plan work schedules and sequence of operations for workforce supervised. You will assign work to subordinates. You will train subordinates in work methods and procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, safety regulations and other regulations established by the Federal Government. You will review maintenance and operation plans and specifications for adequacy, feasibility, and conformance with operational policies. You will evaluate work operations, completed work, and inspection reports to meet all trade standards. You will recommend new methods, material or equipment for expediting and improving work execution.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may become a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Determining the cause of malfunctions and making repairs to buildings, fixtures, or utilities and related equipment and systems using technically proficient methods; 2) Planning and performing work using blueprints, specifications, and sketches; 3) Completing repairs using troubleshooting techniques, shop mathematics, and in accordance with work orders or instructions; and 4) Leading a variety of trades personnel with electrical and mechanical backgrounds.
