These positions are in Office of Research and Development (ORD), Center for Computational Toxicology and Exposure, Great Lakes Toxicology and Ecology Division, Molecular Indicators Branch.

Qualifications
In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the Research GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as assisting laboratory research involving organismal or community response to stimuli, ecological risk or chemical exposure; performing data analysis on experimental endpoints; and/or helping in the preparation of scientific reports or peer-reviewed manuscripts;
- OR master's or equivalent graduate degree in the academic discipline as described below;- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To qualify for the Research GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as conducting laboratory research involving organismal or community response to stimuli, ecological risk or chemical exposure; analyzing omics data (genomic, proteomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic); and/or preparing scientific reports or peer-reviewed manuscripts;
- OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in the academic discipline as described below;- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Your application package will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of biology/bioinformatics and associated statistical techniques; 2) Knowledge of quality assurance procedures sufficient to perform quality assurance checks and validate methods; 3) Skill in modern programming languages such as Python and/or R; 4) Ability to advise staff on research procedures and and laboratory operations; 5) Skill in oral communication, including communicating with scientific peers and leaders; 6) Skill in written communication; 7) Ability to monitor program costs and estimated budgets.

Education
You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.
Biologist: You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as listed.
