Duties

Serving as a senior Application Developer and is the technical authority and provides guidance, technical oversight, and implementation instruction to junior ERP Application developers. Analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving computing problems related to applications, system Software, external or third-party software, and operating systems. Meeting with primary stakeholders to coordinate the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software, and architecture. Performing analysis to determine feasibility studies and optimal approaches for the application of commercial off-the-shelf (cots) products for technical data automation. Interfacing with management, specialists, and users to determine data processing requirements, enhancements, or problems and advises subject-matter personnel on the impact of new or revised systems of data processing operations. Serves as a Senior ABAP software developer sustaining Global Combat Support System, Execution complex software development in an ERP environment. Facilitating and translating customer requirements into technical project requirements and coordinating with other developers and Project Managers to support the implementation of plans.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time, which may be on very short notice with the trips varying from one to 24 days in duration.
• Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - (Computer Scientist) Bachelor's degree in computer science OR bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts. In addition to meeting the education requirement above, applicants must also possess the following experience requirement: Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Developing software using ABAP development techniques such as operating system theory, architecture, or software engineering; (2) Applying computer systems expertise towards Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) operating systems and/or software systems related to the major Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) applications; (3) Assessing performance of existing systems to determine future requirements such as hardware/software upgrades, testing or new system capabilities; and (4) Troubleshooting reported system anomalies to resolve configuration issues and/or software bugs. Education cannot be substituted for experience.
