DCSA's Logistics Management Office (LMO) is looking for an Inventory Management Specialist to perform a wide range of inventory management functions in support of the DCSA Regional Asset Management Center (AMC). This job requires a change agent with the ability to monitor equipment from acquisition to disposal, conduct audits, and process equipment documents for DCSA. Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GG/GS-07 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Receiving, shipping and managing a warehouse environment. Verifying processes and policies for disposing of government equipment. Using and navigating property accountability systems, like DPAS (Defense Property Accountability Systems). Conducting, reconciling and tracking inventory and managing IT type accountable equipment.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Inventory Management - The ability to control, cataloging, requirements forecasting, procurement scheduling, distribution, and overhaul (DX/RX) and disposal of materiel. Executes replenishment strategies to meet enterprise supply planning objectives in order to satisfy customer requirements. Perform inventory reconciliation. Receives, enters, and validates requisition order. Issues material release order to Distribution.
2. Accountability - Fosters and ensures an environment that administers all resources in a manner that instills public trust while accomplishing the mission. Monitors progress and evaluates outcomes to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Holds self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Determines objectives, sets priorities, and ensures sound management processes and procedures are in place, ensuring that national interests are well served. Accepts responsibility for mistakes. Complies with established control systems and rules.
3. Interpersonal Skills - Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences.
4. Information Management - Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems.

For the GG-09 level, a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such as degree or LL.B. or J.D.
Superior Academic Achievement does not apply to DCIPS positions.
