This assignment is a 1-year non-reimbursable assignment. The incumbent serves as Assistant Insider Threat Program Coordinator This is not a Virtual/Remote JDA. Series Requested: 0132, 1801, 1805, or 1810. Location: Washington, DC

Duties

The primary purpose of this assignment is to conduct inquiries into suspected insider threat activity, review user activity, and analyze anomalous behavior. This position will also analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of DHS ITP's operations in meeting established goals and objectives. The Insider Threat Analysts are responsible for conducting analysis, developing reports, and providing assessments of known threats and vulnerabilities. The analysts will also identify and address critical information gaps. In addition, the analysts will develop presentations on findings and provide information gathered to executive management.

Requirements

  • Must be a current permanent Federal employee
  • Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
  • Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
  • Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
  • Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
  • The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.

Qualifications

Qualifications required: Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to analyze and evaluate, on a quantitative or qualitative basis, the effectiveness of the Insider Threat Program's operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Ability to gather, identify, receive, ingest, examine, integrating data on potential insider threat incidents from various sources following established guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ability to review and evaluate program progress status, trends in any functions, and goals and objectives. Ability to prepare responses to queries, reports, justifications, and background papers on insider threat issues. Ability to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and represent the Insider Threat Program in briefings with internal and external senior stakeholders to inform them of the progress of initiatives.
