Duties

You will control and operate electrical power generating and distributing equipment. You will maintain logs and assign numbered locks and tags. You will respond to alarm signals, audio and visual, to evaluate trouble and dispatch workmen to correct conditions. You will operate a central switchboard to actuate remotely controlled circuit breakers, transformers, and switches to regulate and maintain correct voltage on distribution lines.

Requirements

  • Per E.O. 14043, selectee(s) must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by 11/22/2021 or date of employment (which ever comes later) except in limited circumstances where an exemption is approved due to a disability or sincerely held religious beliefs.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You may be assigned to any site or workstation within the PWD Maine area.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Operating and maintaining electrical distribution systems; 2) Operating battery charging equipment, power plant and substation switchboards; and 3) Adjusting and operating specialized machines and test equipment.
