Duties

Conduct classroom, and laboratory instruction. Presents material that is technically accurate and in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents As an instructor, maintains, updates, or develops training materials specific to assigned courses Evaluates student progress and performance. Administers approved written and performance examinations and assigns grades Counsel's student to identify and help resolve problems Accomplishes special projects related to specialty area

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction, Series 1712 +IOR BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Qualifications: **This is a CCAF Position** For Community College of the Air Force GS-1712 positions only: Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. Provides specialized knowledge of command-and-control functions. OR EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D., if unrelated with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcript FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Specialized knowledge of Operations Resource Management. Working knowledge of Air Force Operations Resource Management System (AFORMS). 2. Working knowledge of the Host Operations Systems Management Office (HOSM) to include determine eligibility for incentive pay entitlement, process aeronautical orders and military pay orders, update aircrew position/qualification identifiers, and conduct records reviews. Working knowledge of the Squadron Operations Systems Management Office (SOSM) to include squadron operations center duties, input/audit AFTO Form 781, Mission/Training Accomplishment Reports, and AF Forms 1522. 3. Working knowledge of Aircrew Training to include assign/update training profiles, prorate training requirements, and request/audit aircrew training products. 4. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of instruction. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 5. Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 6. Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses. Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
