This MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST is located in the Joint Force Headquarters (State), Support Programs Division and is part of the CA CHQC Joint Staff.

Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION. Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, is to provide support in the administration of Military & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) services for the Army National Guard within the State Family Program. This is achieved by performing assignments designed to provide familiarity with the Family Program, community services, effective relations with supporting social service and emergency organizations, recruit and train volunteers, promote resilience and financial literacy through targeted life skills training, and the development of human resources program referral networks.

MILITARY AND FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Serving as fully independent advisor within geographical area of responsibility in accomplishing all objectives of the Soldier & Family Readiness Program (SFRP); Managing and operating family assistance centers and provide assistance to commands; Coaches, mentors, and trains junior staff; Establish recurring outreach contact with each Service member's Designated Individual as directed by law, regulation or instruction from the Supervisory Family Support Services Specialist. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
