About the Position: The purpose of this position is to assist a variety of beneficiaries in accessing healthcare in military and civilian treatment facilities. This position is located at McDonald Army Health Center.

Duties

Coordinate with healthcare providers, government and contract referral management point of contacts. Provide administrative review and screening of all consultations entered by the provider within the facility. Resolve all discrepancies in the consult directly with the appropriate provider. Provide guidance and training on the entering and updating of consultation information. Act as a liaison between the contract Referral Management Liaison and the submitting provider to resolve these discrepancies in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • TDY may be required up to 5% of the time.
  • Travel in the local areas is a requirement of this position.

Specialized Experience (GS-07): One year of specialized experience which includes assisting and providing information and assistance in the referral and authorization process to ensure daily functions with specialty care referral review, coordination, tracking, and beneficiary counseling. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
