- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Employee must meet Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements, which includes achieving Engineering and Technical Management “Practitioner” certification category within required timeframe after appointment.
- In accordance with the Ethics in Government Act, 1978, employee may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- Employee may be required to other than normal duty hours to include overtime and/or irregular work hours.
- This position meets the professional exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.207).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Professional knowledge of engineering principles as they pertain to armament systems development and production are required. Such knowledge must enable the employee to serve as a technical specialist in Systems Engineering and permit recognition and application of technological advances to a systems design.
2. Job knowledge required shall be acquired by a bachelor's degree in engineering or its equivalent, as specified in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Handbook---Advanced education in an appropriate field is highly desired.
3. Knowledge of regulations, policies and operating instructions and procedures as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents; technical source selections, weapon systems development, and policies at AFNWC, AFMC, USAF, DoD, and international levels.
4. Broad technical background and experience and demonstrated ability to integrate technical disciplines. Ability to evaluate the latest developments in the technical field and apply them to weapon armament development.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to clarify engineering decisions and to further achieve technical objectives.
